Protect Crime Victims
Provide shelter: Roy Cooper
will continue to expand the Address Confidentiality Program, which
gives victims of domestic violence a way to conduct business without
revealing their location. His program shields victims from their
abusers.
Support for victims: Through public and private
support, Roy Cooper will help advocacy groups that assist rape and
sexual assault victims, domestic violence victims and consumer scam
victims who have been wronged.
Give crime victims a voice: As the author of North Carolina’s
Crime Victim’s Bill of Rights, Cooper will continue to work with
prosecutors, law enforcement and advocacy groups to give victims a say
in court and to get restitution.
