Cooper, 47, was the state Senate majority leader before running for attorney general, serving five terms in the Senate after two terms in the House. A native of Nash County, Cooper built a solid record in his first term as he worked to improve consumer protection and resources for law enforcement and investigators. He says he will work to expand the use of DNA testing in violent crimes and shut down illegal drug laboratories if he wins re-election... Cooper deserves a second term as attorney general.
