Ahead in the Polls, Cooper Has Momentum In Final Stretch
RALEIGH, N.C.—With less than five weeks until Election Day, Roy Cooper has the momentum in the final stretch of the campaign. This week, Cooper holds a clear lead over Governor McCrory in three different polls, and Cooper received the endorsement of the Moore County Pilot and the I-77 Business Plan.
“As Governor McCrory clings to his partisan, political agenda, it’s clear that North Carolinians are ready for a change of leadership. Governor McCrory is the most vulnerable incumbent in the country, and the bottom line is voters aren’t buying what Pat McCrory is selling. It’s time for North Carolina to have a jobs governor who will work to put their interests first,” said Jamal Little, Cooper campaign spokesman.
“In running for governor, Roy Cooper displays noble motives that seem anything but cravenly political.
“I am running for governor,” he said, “because it is time that North Carolina works for everyone, not just the select few. … I believe we have made budget and tax decisions that have been driven more by ideology than by sound thinking on how to grow the economy and create more opportunity.”
We need more sound thinking. We need Roy Cooper.”
“Democrat Roy Cooper was endorsed for governor on Tuesday by a group of Lake Norman business leaders who oppose Interstate 77 toll lanes.
Among the leaders of I-77 Business Plan are officials from two notable NASCAR businesses, Michael Waltrip Racing and Rusty Wallace Inc.”
